The day before this photo was taken, this was a brilliant, sparkling cascade of meltwater over crystal-clear ice. The sun was shining bright and the air was chilly. I took nearly a whole roll of photos that day, but there is a reason that the shot you see here was taken the second day, after a warm air mass moved in from the south, causing the ice to become cloudy...
