These power lines flow along the landscape like a river of silken threads...
Like part of a giant spiders web, the power will relay itself away from a central station. The mere flick of a lightswitch can be seen as noise on the electrical grid. Noise, which, to both the spider and the electrical supplier, represents a "food" signal. That one involves reception of energy in the form of a vibration as a signal, and the other involves the reception of energy in the form of a spike of electricity as a signal, suggests our utility companies truly are the evil bloodsuckers we'd always imagined!!
