Whether made of minerals from a geyser, or made of ice, here at a waterfall, a deposit may naturally dam itself, causing elaborate tiers, filled with pools of liquid...
This is nothing new to farmers in mountainous regions of the world, where terrace farming allows growers to raise crops and regulate water on steep slopes. Mud is hand-packed into borders in much the same way as the ice above has formed a wall, which holds the water needed for growing crops. At the same time, the once steep mountain, like the flowing cascade of water above, becomes a series of plateaus - it's terribly similar to the quarry ( "Eaten Hill" ) from the "Rock Tour", or the seats of a stadium as well. Kinda' coincidental, eh? A three dimensional mound is transformed into a stack of thin two-dimension-like layers (see mystery photo now!), looking much like the edge of an open book, suggesting we are virtual slaves to the will of gravity, adopting practices that accept and even encourage the process.
